Here’s a sample answer to the IELTS cue card topic “Describe a memorable childhood event”
One of the most memorable events from my childhood is my seventh birthday party. It was a sunny day in June, and I had been looking forward to this day for months. My parents had organized a surprise party for me, and I had no idea about it.
On the morning of my birthday, I woke up to find the house beautifully decorated with balloons, streamers, and a big banner that read “Happy 7th Birthday!” I was thrilled and couldn’t believe my eyes. My parents had invited all my friends and family, and they all shouted “Surprise!” when I walked into the living room.
The party was filled with fun activities. We played games like musical chairs and pin the tail on the donkey. There was a delicious birthday cake with seven candles, and I made a wish before blowing them out. My friends gave me wonderful gifts, and we had a great time together.
Looking back, that birthday party holds a special place in my heart. It was a day filled with joy, surprises, and the love of my family and friends. Even now, whenever I see photos from that day, it brings a smile to my face, and I’m reminded of the wonderful memories of my childhood.
